Early Semester Meeting of Marine Science Study Program (S1)

On Friday, January 10, 2020, an early semester meeting of the Marine Science study program was held, which was chaired directly by the Head of the Study Program, Mega L Syamsudin, Ph.D

The Meeting Agenda discusses the following:

  1. Graduate Strategy on Time
  2. Determination of Even Semester Lecturers
  3. Etc

To meet the target of graduates on time (class of 2016) graduating 3.5 – 4 years, the study program took strategic steps to achieve these targets, including encouraging students who had done draft guidance at least two times to be able to go forward to conducting Research Proposal Seminars ( SUR). In addition, time adjustments are also made for the colloquium period and are comprehensive so that graduates are expected to be able to reach the target on time.

In the Even Semester of the Academic Year 2019/2020, there are 26 courses divided into three semesters; Semesters 2, 4 and 6. The distribution of lecturers from each subject is adjusted to the competence and balanced composition so that the lecture process can run smoothly and learning outcomes can be met.

The curriculum used in Semesters 2 and 4 refers to the 2018 Curriculum, while Semester 6 still uses the 2016 Curriculum. In Semester 4, there are elective courses that are open for students to choose 1 of 4 available electives:

  • Fishery Oceanography
  • Coastal Geomorphology
  • Bioinformatics
  • Micro-control Instrument

The last agenda is related to the development of study programs. Per one of the Work Programs of the University of Padjadjaran 7 S (Sapta Karsa Unpad), SASAMI (One Study Program, One International Higher Education Partner), the study program will arrange strategic steps to achieve these goals, the first step starting with establishing contact with the professor/promoter of each lecturer while studying at their respective universities.
