The history of the birth of the Marine Science Study Program is inseparable from the history of the establishment of the Faculty of Fisheries and Marine Sciences (FPIK) within the University of Padjadjaran (UNPAD). The Faculty of Fisheries and Marine Sciences, Padjadjaran University started from the Department of Fisheries which has been established since 1965 and then upgraded its status to a faculty with two Study Programs, namely Fisheries Study Program and Marine Science Study Program. This is based on the Approval Letter of the Director General of Higher Education Number 2005 / D / T / 2005 dated June 27, 2005 and confirmed by the Decree of the Rector of Universitas Padjadjaran Number 1197 / J06 / Kep / KP / 2005 dated July 7, 2005.
